Fort Street Studio

Fort Street Studio’s sumptuous carpets are expertly hand-knotted and executed in the nuanced color combinations that are the signature of the Studio’s painterly designs, which predominantly originate from watercolor art.

Founded in 1996 by American painters Janis Provisor and Brad Davis, Fort Street Studio is world renowned for its suede-like hand-knotted wild silk and wool carpets that combine the traditional with modern, sophisticated aesthetics.

The company is widely recognized for its creations and has mounted highly acclaimed exhibitions in Paris, London, and Milan. The brand’s products are regularly featured in the editorials of the most prestigious publications, such as The World of Interiors, Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, The New York Times Magazine, and Departures.

Introducing Dave

Fort Street Studio’s DAVE carpet design was conceived by artist Janis Provisor, who employed bold strokes that created a Ying and Yang / left side-right side duality.

A strong beam-like motif separates one side from the other. The boldness of the design is softened by the execution of the carpet in a plush and sultry quality of mohair and wool reminiscent of Astrakan fur.

The design is hand-knotted with hand-processed Mongolian Wool and fine Mohair and is customizable in color, size, and shape.

Introducing Curve

Fort Street Studio’s CURVE carpet design was conceived by artist Janis Provisor, employing bold strokes on half the periphery of a painting, creating a study in contrast with the minimal field.

The strokes in the continuous curve motif accentuate different values of the same color and culminate with a shift in texture when the lightest shade is reached, creating a dynamic sensory experience for the touch and the eye. The three-dimensional texture is achieved by mixing hand-processed wool with silk and leaving the pile long.

The design is hand-knotted with hand-processed Himalayan Wool and fine Silk and is customizable in color, size, and shape.

Introducing Corteza

Fort Street Studio’s CORTEZA carpet design evokes neural synapses translated into graphic networks of luminous and colorful threads.

The design pays tribute to the intricacies of communication, layering scrim-like motifs.

The rug is hand-knotted with hand-processed Himalayan Wool and Silk and is customizable in color, size, and shape.
